Not to be confused with their more pop counterparts Das Pop (Soulwax produced the last album), Das Glow are a tad more menacing in the electronic arts with the freshest EP ‘Lite Brite’ following suite. Lots of bleeps, hollow drums and stretched melodies ‘Lite Brite’ with mixes from Strip Steve and the harder and up-pumped Qebrus fills the void between pop-electro and slow house. The bonus track ‘A Lighter Shade of Bright’ is a more ambient affair with striking similarities to a Daft Punk tune or two this is actually the standout on the release.

That’s right one of the biggest festivals in the world has crushed all rumours with the real line-up being announced for 2009!

Covering a grand total of 3 days and 3 main stages there really is something for everyone. Diversity is the key to such a grande event and Glastonbury never ceases to amaze the masses by pulling together a wide number of old and new rockers, indie and dance, folk and pop and always more and more and more!

Highlights would be Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Spinal Tap, Dizee Rascal, Friendly Fire (Syd: Manning Bar), Bat for Lashes, White Lies, Peter Bjorn and John, Doves, Little Boots, Echo and The Bunnyman, 2mandjs (soulwax), Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, La Roux, Kissy Sell Out, Erol Alkan, Crookers, Whomadewho, Animal Collective, The Horrors, Noah and the Whale, Bon Iver, Metronomy etc etc etc this really is only a 1/3 of the whole line up.

After listening through Peaches ’I Feel Cream’ I thought to myself its alot like the older albums particular ‘Impeach My Bush’. But I then thought who cares Peaches outlandish lyrics that get down to do the nasty and whatever else imaginable are great why change something that isn’t broken,  the album features contributions from Simian Mobile Disco, Drums of Death, Soulwax and Digitalism that impress in so many ways, the production behind these tracks from start to finish are better than your mum’s roast dinner on christmas day.

Its alot more poppy than her pervious albums but it is pulled off well with a more melodic sound then in her early years. The tracks are varying in tempo and sound which I love all of them.

It is a hot rainy Saturday in Sydney, with little outdoor activity I feel its time to talk about some well known European djs. This post is a little bit of a tribute to Soulwax and their appearance at Sydney’s ParkLife festival tomorrow. Soulwax are just starting their new world tour and have chosen Stoney Roads home town baby to kick that shiz off!
