Now im not going to geographically break down the world nor go into specifics JUST how good sydney is compared to the other states in this hot and dusty country (Australia people). You would assume where the melting pot of that community resides is going to be a whole lot of heat… and there is.
What I was suprised to find was the talent nestled away in a place called Adelaide, roughly 1374km from Sydney and a hell of a lot more from the biggest cities in the world but what it lacks in size makes up in banging tunes slash and/or parties.
While Sydney battles it out with up to 10+ crews, Hey Now, Romulus and Remus, Troublemakers, Hump Day Project, 10:87, Crumbs in the Cupboard, Three Fingers, The Gameboys etc the Adelaide boys are content with just two major players, Def Starr and Loot & Plunder.
L & P already have a program on the radio with Nova (Adl – 91.9) so it was time to really give Def Starr a closer inspection. They resident at the local Onelove and run a Thursday night under the guise of 8 Bit Kidz, playing PG wuss-dance that actually turns into a softcore-porno-super-rave and if that wasn’t enough they produce not only under Def Starr but a soon to be birthed alias ‘Pretty Girls’.
What was handed over was a single Phoenix/Grum concution and not just one mega mix but a quickie they sweated over for Nova (all highly recommened by yours truely).
Another honerable mention is Chris Spiers who resides at both Onelove/8 Bit Kidz with Def Starr who sent through this Busy P edit of a crusty classic ‘Protect and Entertain’
.. grab them all, sit back and enjoy.
