Township Funk remixes seem to be a tasty track to bite into in the blogeth worldeth at the moment. Well to those remixes i say “Fuck that shit” (you will know what i mean when you download). Bite your teeth into a meaty EDIT. Yes thats right ladies and gentlemen. This Mooqee EDIT puts most of the other re re re re remixes to shame. HA! Its got the baltimore bounce and if you are a dj and this does not bring the girls to the dance floor, that’s probably because they’re probably already dancing before they have even given themselves a chance to get to the dance floor.

Mujava – Township Funk (Mooqee Edit)

it is all explained in the above paragraph

WE ALSO HAVE PICS UP OF A FEW PARTIES IN EUROPE, CHECK EM OUT.. CLICK PHOTO’S >

Started chatting to Larry Tee the other day about a new album/mix tape he’s dropping soon and we also segwayed onto an array of other current social topics.

After it all I agreed to myself Larry Tee not only has this amazing wealth of knowledge but he really has been there and done that. Who else can say their career started off with a Tranvestite singer, producing for the B-52’s and coining the term ‘Electroclash’?

Ubbs – So give us the stats, how old are you, how long have you been making/living music and how did it all start?

LT – My age? 29….OK, 49, and I have been making music since I was 20 and Djing since I was 23. I started with a band called the FANS that had previously produced the B-52s and then started my own group, Now explosion that featured myself and Rupaul amongst other people.

I also started Djing because noone was playing the music I wanted to hear…..

Ubbs – I could imagine having such a huge amount music around you constantly would sort of grind down your tastes and creativity or just the opposite and really inspire you to keep on going, how do you look at such a fast paced industry and its effects on you?

LT – Well, my brain moves pretty fast and I think I would be much more unhappy to have to play one style for the rest of my life like the veterans of house music or techno….playing one style of music all night long would make me crazy.

I like all kinds of music. I LOVE to know all the latest ways to get music like the blogs and to sell it….. it all seems so democratic now since its all out there for everyone to get no matter where you live.

And I want the latest sounds whether it be bassline, fidgit, minimal, bloghouse or whatever….not sure I will ever change in that matter…

Ubbs – So with that being said do you think blogs are an effective form of promotion or like most things sorta fade back in obscurity?

LT I think blogs are the future of promotion… I dont think they have even started their reign yet. It gives the kids a chance to promote the acts that really represent them, not something chosen by P Diddy.

Ubbs – I remember reading how you were one of the pioneers and creators the genre ‘Electroclash’ back in the early 90’s sometime along with Dj Hell which would have been a massive compliment. Looking at current times how you do feel about all these sub genres, do they really define a sound or should they all be loosely layered around what has been founded in the past?

LT – Well people do need names to help describe sounds, though the artists are not always so keen on being labelled. When I created the term electroclash for my festival, the press made it a genre name. But I definately got criticized for creating the word…..

But for me, I like to hear the latest names for music styles… and then leave them behind…. I am sworn to fun, loyal to none hehehehe

Ubbs – There is quite a provocative edge to your music and the artists you work with, is this common ground or an added element to make it something different?

LT – well, ever since the beginning of time, I worked with the craziest artists possible because I want to know what goes through their mind. My first hit was Rupaul’s Supermodel and it sold 3 million copies…. and she was a tranvestite. I think it was important…. at least to millions of gays and transvestites. thats for sure. but I have alwasy preferred the Grace Jones and Divines over the Bon Jovis and the Whitney houstons.

I am afraid I didnt ADD this crazy element to my album…in fact I have been trying to hide it for years, without any luck… I mean, I am Mr ELectrolcash…lol!

Ubbs – You mentioned a new Album dropping soon, what should we expect? any Australians thrown in the mix and how does Doitlouder.com slip in there?

LT – Well, do it louder.com is the LOUDER booking agency that handles all my favorite talent out there….Fire and Reason (Ubbs – Hey Bella!), Alexander teCHnique, Mel Merio and Christopher Just, Bad Brilliance, Tombstone…. I just realized that I could introduce people to my favorite artists, actually I always have, and this was another way to do it and share them with more people.

As for my album it is ridiculous with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, Princess Superstar, Kelly (Whose video SHOES has been seen by 50 million people), Roxy Cottontail, Herve, Jeffree Star 38 million visits to his myspace site…and a 7 year old girl…I wanted to make the sickest collection EVER and for it to take its cues from the internet NOT have some chirpy dance music singers on it that are lamo…just to get people to buy it.. Ecchhhh. Besides there is already the Lady Gaga record isnt there….why do what everybody else is doing?

I have some great remixes by Australians like Act Yo Age, the guy from Gameboy Gamegirl, and hopefully one by the Aston Shuffle…and how about one from those handsome Stafford Brothers whom I did a collaboration with… ask them about that one, those boys are HOT! I want to remix The Presets as they are one of my favorite bands!! BLOGULA (my remix name) DOES THE PRESETS!!

Ubbs – Favorite question, if could spoon any dj/producer/artists alive (or dead) who would it be?

LT – Spoon DJ/Producer/artists? hmmmm. Actor Jamie Bell is pretty smoking and how about that kid that got into trouble for throwing a party in his parents house in Australia with the sunglasses…hehehehe. What was his name again? I am afraid I have terrible taste… I dont actually think producers and Djs are Sexy at all, except for ME!!

Well there you go, Larry Tee thinks blogs are cool, crushes on Corey Delaney and is just plain crazy and fantastic at the same time!

Has a new minimix showcasing alot of the talent described above, tracklisting is in the comments.

Larry Tee – Larry’s Louder Mix

Plus a single track from the mix above.. a Christopher Just and Bunny Lake collaboration/mashup for the masses, super fresh beat and bass.

Christopher Just vs Bunny Lake – The Very Last Party

Kraymer also sent through an exxxclusive for us, with a bit of work on 30H!3’s ‘Don’t Trust Me’. In his words its a bit more friendly then the sticky beats he usually sends through. Bitta pop and a bit of lock.. I like it!

30H!3 – Don’t Trust Me (Kraymer Cut Up)

Iamxl has been putting in the hard work over the past few months with some strong remixes. He constantly picks different but quality tracks including Deadmau5’s ‘Faxing Berlin’, Sook Yin Lee’s ‘Beautiful Day’ and now Joy Divisions ‘Atmosphere’.

I’ve heard a few dj’s have a stab at Joy Division and fall short, or just create such an obscure track it would be difficult to actually mix with. This time he holds the anonymous mystery beat behind the track and throws a smooth but glitchy layer all over it.

Joy Division – Atmosphere (Iamxl Remix)

Bonus > Mujava – Township Funk (Diplo Remix)

+ Peace Offering

Yuksek – Extraball (CK 90s Hip House Remix)

Got a big post packed full of exclusives from Sweat It Out for Oh Snap’s EP ‘Bill Coby’s Sweater’, R!M!E’s debut into Fake Bloods essential Mix pa-lus another track that Fake Blood used and you should hear, Mod Squad (Modular) dropped a fancy little Tough Alliance track for free, some new stuff from Soda Boys as well as a remix of New York’s ‘Fire and Reason’ with the promise of more on the way.

Oh Snap has this novelty outlook at current trends and life, one of his first notable tracks was his vocals for ‘Indie Hipster Douchebag’ by having a dig at skinny leg jeans, keeping it real and general scene kids, the ironic twist was his fans were just that!

His new EP ‘Bill Cosby’s Sweater’ is filled with more comical tracks such as ‘Everyone’s a DJ’ and ‘Bill Cosby’s Sweater’ with remixes by Edu K, Mujava, Hostage and Kazey and Bulldog.

Sweat It Out were nice enough to hook Stoney Roads with a double helping offering up the Edu K and Mujava remix of ‘Everyones a Dj’ to get the taste buds adjusted to these party tunes!

Oh Snap – Everyones A Dj (Mujava Remix)

Oh Snap – Everyones A Dj (Edu K Remix)

Pee Ess keep an eye on my favorite blog here for the other two

R!M!E comes across as a pretty modest guy and when his bootleg for Fake Blood’s ‘Mars’ popped up in the recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix by the man himself Fake Blood he was a little more then suprised.

Admittibly there’s more then a few Mars Remix’s floating around but this one takes the good and the better, chucks them into his mum’s food mixer and then came up with this super dance floor friendly version 2.0.

Fake Blood – Mars (R!M!E Remix)

Another impromptu appearance in Fake Bloods Radio 1 Essential Mix was Vektorkat, apart from having the coolest name of 2009 and coming from France he has these hard synth driven Daft Punk-esque beats.

End Run has Ubbs ‘5 Start Filthy Rating’

Vektorkat – End Run

Tough Alliance are lucky enough to nestle with the Modular Stable of artists and comprised of Eric Berglund and Henning Fürst. They are the Swedish Ted and Francis, with keyboards and angelic vocals.. still not sure? Just listen to the track!

The Tough Alliance – Hung Up on a Dream

Thanks Mod Blog

Soda Boys came out of the blue on this one, although from the looks of their myspace its a big collective of producers etc and have a pretty professional look.. their remix of Avenue ‘Can You Feel It’ has a very modern pump-beat and a general feel good direction.

Avenue – Can I Feel You (Soda Boys Remix)

Fire and Reason are led by Bella Saona and Steve Narvaez and create such lucious, latino banging tracks (even though they live in New York!). Bella sent along this Killer on the Dance Floor Remix of Fire and Reason’s ‘Preste Atençao’ and it bumps along with such authority!

Fire and Reasons – Preste Atencao (Killer on the Dance Floor Remix)

I’ve also been told we will be seeing a few more singles released and mixed by Larry Tee, Alexander Techinique and The R.O.A.R.

Also got a sneak peek at a soon to be official remix of Lost Valentino’s single ‘Midnights’ and a big release from Act Yo Age that got me excited.

Think that’s all I’ve got in me for this lovely but hungover Saturday evening, fingers crossed I make it through the night. Don’t forget to add us on Twitter here, Hypem here and Facebook here.

IMISSMYJUNO AND SINDEN

Pic -The Cobra Snake

Holy molyyyyy some producers these day, with such nerve to create mind bending tracks and hideously grande beats!!!

IMISSMYJUNO popped out of the woodworks and into my inbox and boy am I glad. Recently entered this little number in the beatport Franz Ferdinand ‘Ulysses’ remix so go vote here.

Think of a power indie track swirling in a pot of static beats!

Franz Ferdinand – Ulysses (IMISSMYJUNO Remix)

South Africa’s Mujava released a ‘Township Funk‘ EP and both Radioclit and Sinden have done a little work to the original number. They sound awfully similar but my pick is the Radioclit Remix, positively one of the best tracks of the month if not the year!

Mujava – Township Funk (Radioclit Remix)
