Back from a studio hiatus the Stanton Warriors have been working various spells and magic over a number of licks including this one from two tough girls Rye Rye and M.I.A titled ‘Bang’. Taking nothing away from boys this is just a 128Kbps cut BUT still enough pow to bring down a charging elephant and shake some tribal booty.

Friend of Kanye, avid blogger, Kid Sister lover, ultimate traveller and world DJ champion A-Trak must have a pretty sweet life as a world famous party starter. His personal blog has my stamp of approval as one of the more interesting non-self-glorifying celeblogs, you can lurk it here. He’s been creeping somewhere in the shadows plotting his future hip-hop-meets-disco-meets-electro epidemic and has now released dates for his upcoming “10,000 LB Hamburger Tour”. To ensure extensive punter pleasure he’s bringing along Diplo and Switch (touring as their dancehall project Major Lazer), chart topper M.I.A., baltimore upstart Rye-Rye, heavy hitting MSTRKRFT and disco king Treasure Fingers.
The tour promises a “spanking new stage design” which pitchfork suggests should include a “hamburger bed and/or a guy in a Hamburglar costume doing cartwheels and/or someone grilling actual hamburgers during the set”. Could not have put it any better.

“It’s tricky for me, ’cause I’ve worked with a lot of people over the years– and as far as vocals or rappers, sure, there’s tons of people I haven’t worked with, but, not to sound blasé or anything, I don’t have a wish-list of like, “Man, one day I’m going to get this guy on my track and that’s going to be it.” Especially nowadays, a lot of our favorite musicians are getting a little old, there’s kind of that generational turnover where it’s like, wow, they’re getting old now… So I don’t know, I think the record that I did with Armand was something that I’ve wanted to do for a little while, so if anything, just to continue the Duck Sauce project, I’m quite content with that.”

I want to talk about a sweet sweet track by LA Electro bandits LAZRtag. They have produced an ear infesting remix of M.I.A‘s Paper Planes. This remix flies across the genres of electro and fidget. Like drinking a sex on the beach cocktail it is very sweet with a slight tang of lemon after taste which is the reason you keep coming back to buy the same cocktail.
