fukkk offf will be making his first trip down to australia to show what he is made of, he took some time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions, about his works, future tunes for your listening pleasure and what he gets up too in his spare time, you name it i got it even with out an internet connection but thats another story all together. so enjoy.
Hatch: Hello, can you give our readers the story behind how Fukkk Offf came to be making heavy music for the kids?
FO: I first started with more minimal tracks and got a bit bored of it after a while so I found this fat sawtooth bass line sound and had a lot of fun with it…it was the perfect sound to express my aggressive side so I thought “fuck off” i´ll. do what I want now
Hatch: With Love Me, Hate Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me under your belt which is full of body moving tunes that i must say i throughly enjoy, do you have any new tunes in the works or have you been too busy touring for the album?
FO: Yeah I got some new stuff in the pipeline but was very busy with doing remixes too.Producing while touring is not that easy as I first thought.I always got the best results when I got some days off and no stress at my home. I planned to take more time for productions next year so be prepared ; )
Hatch: Your music is heavy to say the least where do you find inspiration for your music?
FO: The best and most aggressive tracks always come when I´m not in the best mood.
Troubles in relationships or other things are increasing my ambition to do good tracks. If I would always be 100% happy and satisfied my music would probably be very boring…
Hatch: When your not blasting people away when your on tour or laying down the law in the studio what are you doing to keep yourself entertained?
FO: At the moment I still have a normal daytime job too so i´m always busy…I would be very thankful to have a moment of boredom. Then I would probably do more with my friends drinking beer and doing graffiti.
Hatch: The internet is playing the part in the rise and fall of many music acts these days what do you think of the ever expanding use of online media?
FO: Without the Internet I would not had the chance to present my music to so many people without a big label. It´s incredible how you can use the Internet today with sharing music etc…But for me it´s a kind of oversupply and I sometimes wish back the good old times where you had just a handful of precious mix tapes and listening to them over and over again…
Hatch: what is the weirdest display of affection you have ever encountered from a fan?
FO: When people show me their middle finger and shouting “fukkk offf” after a set I know that it was good ;)
Hatch: If you were not producing music what would you be doing otherwise?
FO: I would probably do more graphical stuff like graffiti.
Hatch: Is this going to be the first time you have played in Australia? have your fellow musicians told you any stories of what you might expect down here?
FO: Yeah it´s my first time and I´m very exited I can hardly think of a better continent to play at this moment. My friends from Saint Pauli just played there a few months ago and where really thrilled by the beautiful girls, the nice weather and the super friendly people!
Hatch: Collaborations seem to be the in thing at the moment are you playing on collaborating with anyone in the near future? or is there anyone that you would like to produce with?
FO: I think I´m not the best team worker and prefer to do my stuff alone. But if Giorgio Moroder or Quincy Jones would ask me I could not say no ; )
Im planning some other projects next year and would love to work with a singer so we will see…
Hatch: Finally, the ship is sinking what do you save?
FO: My Ipod…at least some music while drowning
