I often wonder whether the genre of ‘dirty electro’ refers to the beat or the lyrics so Here is some food for thought. I would like to exhibit some quotes from the following song I am sharing
To me, Paul Anthony, ZXX, Hot Mouth and TJR have created a track that is Electro with wonk. However, because the lyrics are so dirty I would classify it ultimately as a dirty electro. do you agree? 3 words for me to ultimately describe the song are Catchy, horny and filth
Tim and Mark are the duo behind Calling in Sick and have made their mark not only on Stoney Roads but the blog world. We featured a Grum ‘Runaway’ remix a few weeks back that was a good representation of things to come and boy oh boy has it come.
Finally a remix worth talking about of Aussie boys Grafton Primary, there was a so so attempt by the Aston Shuffle that left a pretty bad taste on what could potentially be a hit of a track. I mean Grafton Primary have all the ingredients, vocally stunning lead singer, keytars/keyboards, synths and drums… all they needed was this.
The track comes in at a meal sized 5 minutes, great opening, well timed breaks, emphasis on the chorus… just plain rad, I’d have to say its in my top 5 songs of the year already.
A smooth sailing electro mix. very cool crackly synth used in the main beat of the track. Sounds like some sort of alien sucking air in. I love how Timoshii does some really cool fidgety tricks with the lyrics throughout the song. The best Beastie Boys remix I have heard to date! and that is a big call!!!!
Fair bit of time on my hands meant I could have a good browse of what the interweb had on offer today.
Found my way onto the EKS Otus Dj Controller and the thing looks super swish and most likely super expensive.
The whole idea is it steps away from vinyl, away from cdj’s and syncs and turns your laptop into an actual tangible mixer/controller. Where by instead of using your mouse/shortcuts to drop treble, add a sample or loop something you can use the EKS Otus Dj Controller.
With the push of a button you are doubling the functionality, has an onboard mouse pad a stack of hardware to boot so it got my vote. Was also used by Fake Blood for his essential mix a month or two ago (well 3 of them!).
Mad Kids sent out to the blogs 3 new toys to play with, 2 remixes and an original work. You might remember their remixes of 3 is a Crowd and Jesse Rose’s ‘Touch My Horn’ (Crookers remix here).
Of the three the Mad Kids remix of ‘Eurovision’ by Zombie Disco Squad is a killer, simple intro with real fuzzy bass plastered all over it. Add looped vocals and double claps and you should get the right idea.
Plus only a low quality version of Lady Sovereign’s single ‘Human’ remixed by Sinden. You may notice something familar about it.. and your right it samples/steals The Cure’s ‘Close to me’.
Give it a few listens and it starts getting catchy.
Watch our rambles on Twitter here, preview tracks on Hypem here or join our Facebook group to chat to us here.
Don’t forget to come party with me and Hatch at Hugs tomorrow (Friday) with Shazam, Dan De Caires, Kato + more at Nevermind on Oxford St. $10 before 12.. do it!
Also the Spank Records/Bang Gang Damn Arms is underway so head over and grab the sample pack and get cracking. I know Kraymers already started as well as Son of Vader so go go go.
Extra extra (Wow’s on a bit of a roll with posts so adding a few tracks that have been sent through)
Los Angeles poses a sweet location for Clockwork, a producer who has been djing for over 2 years. Clockwork has a growing collection of remixes to the selection of artists such as Kanye and Cut Copy.
“I grew up listening to a lot of hip-hop too which has definitely had an impact on me.” His influences include prodigy, the chemical brothers, and fatboy slim.
To me the Fatboy Slim influence definitely stands out in his remixes with similar build ups and or climaxes. This said, there is also a lot of originality in his predominately house sounding tunes. I picture these songs going down very nicely, played at a hot summers Sunday afternoon party.
on the contrary these two tracks i’m sharing with you are much more electro. Let’s Go to Work (Clockwork Remix)- Bryan Cox(mediafire) HIGHLY RECOMMEND baltimore/electro. The vocal isn’t rap but it holds alot of similarities to the genre
Its time for some Solly goodness. This time he is “Crunking up a classic”. The man is heading to Brooklyn where he says he will be producing some new beats to ram into our ears. The track he has sent us is a crunk baltimore which is what the Solly is all about.
Chew Fu (another Brooklyn resident) is back in Australia to do some gigs and grind on the new album. This serial re-fixer has some great tracks and sets to share at the moment. He has managed to turn one of the Streets more unusual tunes into a dance-able track.

I would like to take a moment to talk to you about DJ LunyP. LunyP is a Sydney Australia based dj who is one half of AudioKillaZ. These guys are predominantly focused on making Breakbeats, fidget and Baltimore. However, Mr LunyP has split off down his own path concentrating purely on baltimore. His songs use that balti back beat (that boom chicka cha) which is popular amongst ze balti producer. (AKA Solly, Dlake, that guy from white folks get crunk).
The best way to describe LunyP’s music is like going to your favourite local restaurant. satisfying, can take any of your friends there and easy to get to (aka easy to listen to). So for that reason I am chucking in a mix that you can play when you feel in the mood for some balti gangsta beats.

You hear that??…. me neither! But if there was something I would want to be hearing right now it would be the electro jamming from Daz the Dominant‘s speakers. I came across this remix producer while browsing 3D World. I noticed his name on a Lala Land night club poster. Sydney based Daz has music perfect for 2am when everyone is up for some serious head rocking/ gurning if you’re into that.
I would like to summarize how I feel about Daz’s music by relating it to food. If you were eating it, you would have some serious indigestion because it is rich and creamy. Check some of his trackz
It is with great excitement that I share two remixes of a hot new summer track “Inside out”, which was produced by Jamie Fisher (Leeds UK)(subliminal side message – support Leeds United) and features the vocals of Shell Heaven Lee
Ho-Ju Records are responsible for dropping this track. So go check them out and support their music. Its also a good opportunity to see what they got coming up.
I want to talk about a sweet sweet track by LA Electro bandits LAZRtag. They have produced an ear infesting remix of M.I.A‘s Paper Planes. This remix flies across the genres of electro and fidget. Like drinking a sex on the beach cocktail it is very sweet with a slight tang of lemon after taste which is the reason you keep coming back to buy the same cocktail.
It is safe to say I am very very excited to share DJ Barletta‘s music with you. The headline of his myspace proclaims “DONT BUY MY MUSIC ON BEATPORT OR AMAZON”. Which sums up the way he must be, a guy who is making great dance music just because he loves to. This I see as in the same humour of google.com already being taken. Which is a shame really because that would have been cool being google.com. Back on topic, Barletta’s beats caught my attention immediately as I browsed through Hypm’s popular top 50 tracks list.
So to bring more of his music to the people I sent Mr Barletta (Not his real last name but this is how I addressed his email) an email and he kindly sent a link across to his tracks for us to download. I am going to share the three most enticing songs I believe he has made. Lollipop – Lil Wayn (Dj Barletta remix)
So DJ Solly was kind enough to send us across an email yesterday with his new track. When I was downloading this track my first thoughts were a smooth flowing rap infested Baltimore (dance n rap combined) tune with Rod Stewart in the chorus. HOWEVER this was not the case.
So once downloading was finished I listened to the song for about a minute… then pressed the stop button. Took my headphones off and lazily fell off my chair and sunk to my knees…. with pure ecstasy of joy. DJ Solly was made for electro. This song is pure gold baby! If this song doesn’t get downloaded by every person, spam bot, tracker that visits this site I will personally hunt you down (well not really) and ask WHY?! the only person you are hurting is yourself. Do ya think i’m sexy – Rod Stewart (DJ Solly Volume Remix) Hot Hot Hot, like grandma’s pie hot on the window Ceil except even hotter
If you are regular to this site you may have picked up that we have a pretty unhealthy obsession with Crookers. But like sport, music has its top players that all the new and upcoming remixes and producers work to knocking off the pedestal.
This Crookers track that I am about to let your ears divulge is not your typical… Which is what makes it effing awesome of course! very jumpy and definitely one to bobble like a jelly on your seat while you explore the 90% infected with porn World Wide Web
Gypsy P – Crookers Its the upbeat classic trumpet tunes played in the major that get me
Like a celebrity chef show, I am going to whip you up a music meal that you can read in less 30 seconds and includes a few swear words. So i got two songs which are the shit at the moment. mash The creeps with those sexy sexy sluts the Pussy Cat dolls and what do you get. some freaky easy listening
Magic Bus is a recent release by the Italian mixstallions. Do you guys ever remember that school day arvo show where the kids ride on the magic school bus. That show was alright.
The sweats drippin’ down ya back, the bass is pumping and Crookers got ya jumpin’. Welcome to what will be your Dopest track of the week. Moby recently released a new album called ‘Last Night’ and one track which caught the imagination of some of the top remix producers was ‘I love to move in here‘. (thats the link to the original track) Its funk-infesting shiz.

i was driving down rocket st bathurst listening to the community radio channel which Charles Sturt Uni happens to run when surprisingly a Booka Shade track came on. I largely thought this radio station was used for old timers to shed their classics for all bogans (Aussie version of Red Necks) a like to listen to.
This event got me thinking about Booka Shades new album and the reason I had not listened to it enough. So here is a track which I LIKE!
Dusty Boots – Booka Shade This song reminds me a little of “making me money by Switch”. It must be some of the instruments they use
Blast – Florian Meindl This is Minimal tech, repetitive but the kind of good repetitive to listen to while writing a blog post
Matthew Dear othewise known as Audion surfs across dance genres and sings. I would like to share a track which particularly caught my attention
So lets cook your brain with this track Billy Says Go – Audion Has more of a late night minimal techno tunnel vibe, well suited for after parties where all sense of time has been lost
It is a crispy cold day in the little country town of Bathurst. The heaters are burning and my ass is red raw as a result of standing next to for hours on end. Seeking more heat i come to my laptop to get the radiant glow of radiation to warm up my face and also introduce a new sexy sex track.
Two friends of Stoney Roads (Lady Clam and Son of Vader) have come together to collaborate an electro rap track about celebrity Punani. Well, its about fuckin time. This track stands out from the rest of the pack because the beat is moist like morning dew and you also chuckle at the lyrics while getting a little turned on by Lady Clams voice.
Gash feat. Lady Clam – Son of Vader A sexy underlying 007 beat. Catchy from the beginning. would be criminal not to check this HAWT humorous sexy track (ahhh so many emotions in one track). Funny but also sincere
Stoney Roads was created to showcase and feature new and talented dance and indie artists. All music unless permission granted is posted at a reasonable level for listening purposes, we do not condone posting of full quality releases. Without money going back to the artist we are merely shooting ourselves in the feet. Think before you post!

jesse k: This is amazing. Have been waiting for someone to rival to Tocadisco edit and this surpasses it.
