Born in a club and raised by a pack of wild prostitutes, Chauffeur avoids the light of day. He prefers to live when the stars come out. At night the city is alive and you can feel her pulse. It is the solid thumping kick momentarily drowning all of your senses, the pummeling synths that will turn you savage, the melody and sounds that release your soul. Celebrate good times c’mon!
Fresh on the trail of festival season in Europe, Jaimie Fanatic (aka Suelo) took a few moments of his time out to tell us about his fourth coming album release. Set to hit digital store land on september the 19th, Jaimie Fanatic and fans will be celebrating the launch of ‘The Unexpected’. Well known for his banging remixes, this album is essentially a showcase of his original work, which makes for a very interesting outcome. This is what Jaimie had to say
“with the album I wanted to show people who I am. Not only the remixer who likes hard banging house music but also the artist who got into house music be listening to Laurent Garnier (“Merci Laurent” is my ode to him) and Jeff Mills.
Deep electro acid disco house and techno has always been a huge part of me. Strings and deep distorted sounds are not things you usually hear in my music, remixes but is definitely me. Therefore the album is partially that and partially banging music like most know me.
The album tells a story about how I started into music with hip hop (Kicking up Dirt) and deep dramatic techno house music all the way to Merci Laurent. After that its banging.
I wanted to do the album in Logic completely, but halfway through the album I switched to Ableton Live and finally did the entire album in it. Angel Alanis did the mastering for me. Usually I do all my own mastering but an album is such a delicate thing that I wanted somebody else, with a fresh ear, to master the album.
Kicking Up Dirt and This Beat is iLL will be released as singles on Boemklatsch. Get Madder (with the new titel “Losing Control”) will be released on Funky Muchies (a sublabel of NEWS). I’ll be waiting will be released on Legacy Kids Club (my own label) with several remixes a.o. Supabeatz & Keith. Merci Laurent will be released on a minimal techno label of Angel Alanis and Reprogrammed will be released on Wearhouse Music of Lee Mortimer. Next to these singles the entire album will of course be released, and this will be done on Legacy Kids Club (my label)”
Catherine Kelleher is Catcall, a now solo artist reinvented post a so-last-year punk band and caters for fans of soaring, almost slow earnest chimy folktronica.
Whilst not just sauntering about opening for funk god toni toni lee and recording her debut album, she managed to fit in a little down time with nu-disco bro g.l.ov.e.s to create the a-side edit ‘swimming pools’.
the b-side actually features a real deal 80′s producer/sound engineer/mixer by the name of Julian Mendelsohn, who swashbuckled a couple remixes for the likes of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the Pet Shop Boys back in the day.
the track unravels like a soundtrack to a movie called ‘the story of your life’… like a blinding light coupled along with the cleverest build will mean being set to head bop mode for the next 9:37.
denmark, home to legoland and vikings… and oh no ono, a cleverly fiendish indie psych four piece filled with un-speakable names (yeah im looking at you aske zidore).
don’t know where they came from, what they are planning to do nor what they look like but they have on the other hand whipped up an assorted ep ‘Internet Warrior’ with not only hype-bot peoples like Caribou and Phenomenal Handclap Band but these obscure types like Higamos Hogamos and Zambri?
anywho’s the cut of my jib is it’s good, it’s different and it’s something you should be listening to right now.
intended to do something a little dancey but haven’t been able to take Our Husbands ‘Villages’ off repeat.
Not only is it honest lo-fi but intentionally more ‘abrasive pop’ as noted by Nathanial (Formerly Fire! Santa Rose Fire!) who works on the track with Freya an established ‘tweed pop’ musician from adelaide.
Tim Healey, the man behind a few recent gems including ‘the mexican’ has put together an august mix to jazz up the release of the collab ‘Let the Beat Flow’ with Nom De Strip on his imprint label Surfer Rosa.

So Kele goes solo and manages to sound exactly like bloc party (not surprising), still a refreshing move… his single ‘everything you wanted’ is a little more left field experimental electronic and is a good early sign of things to come.
The ep is filled with a bucket load of mixes from uk heavies Punks Jump Up, ‘Township Funk’ famed DJ Mujava along with DJ Qness and even (once) French House King Fred Falke…
Falke offers up a double meal deal with his usual glowing remix performance although not overly impressive, the instrumental on the other hand is where his true skill in crafting feel good, slow burning and pulsating jams shines.
even if your self titled ‘monarchy‘ lp has leaked just slightly early we can still celebrate with about a bazillion remixes of the daring ‘love get out of my way’.
Spook below for an 8-bit/warped sinden jam, super groovathon-thing from treasure fingers, dubby number from Tims Goldsworthy and some ferocious cowbells from the one and only holy ghost.
one of stoney’s long time favourites swick sent through a new remix he has just completed for one of the larger players in the music scene of late mowgli. like alot of tunes of late there is a funky two step tropical vibe amped up with some techno jibs and jabs, just the right kind of party tune of late so be sure to get this if you want your ass to shake and your hands to move uncontrollably.
think we’d better re-name the blog to ‘eye industries road’ soon to keep up with the phenomenal amount of a+++++++ (ebay eat your heart out) releases from the guys.
the latest and perhaps greatest comes from some australian exports the vanish, now residing in new york somewhere channeling their inner electronic zen into a live show.
whilst dabbling with bandy dandy stuff uk label eye industries decided to heave ho and sign the expats onto the label and follow suite with some mixes after the blog success of ‘hold on’.
what came next was more licks for yet another hit ‘heartbeats’, grabbing canberra’s most recent welcome-ee and now solo producer Get Stellar as well as sydney groovesmith Beaumont on an alt mix (aint cool unless your alt yeahs?).
Tommy Trash and Tom Piper have combined powers and got the number one song on the August compilation for mos. check it. with a fresh 8-bit sound, this is a sweet little dance floor filla
strongly suggest you also check out “the rooster song” aka eat the cock. a collaboration between Piper and Micky Slim. out on foktop

When he is not climbing the gorge and eating the finest of Cheddar Cheese, he is sat at his computer producing savage basslines and meticulous drum beats. check this dubstep track out from the man himself.

In late july, top billin music released their latest weapon in line of new producers. this one being a canadian by the name of Chauffeur. with limited bio information about him, there is only so much i can tell you. When he produces he does not stick to a style, drifting from house to disco to even hard electro. I am going to share with you what i believe is the banger of his first ep.
Chase and Status met at Manchester University through their mutual love of drum and bass in the mid nineties and have DJ’d ever since, waiting until 2004 for their first production, a remix for Future Cut (better known these days for their production work with Lily Allen). It was followed by a series of drum and bass anthems for the biggest underground labels including ‘Duppy Man’ for Breakbeat Kaos (home of Pendulum’s platinum selling debut album) in 2005 and ‘The Druids’ EP for DJ Zinc’s trendsetting Bingo label a year later. Their production work for Jenna G’s ‘In Love’ the same year earned them their first award, ‘Best Single’, as voted by over 40,000 listeners for the BBC 1Xtra Drum & Bass Awards. Chase and status have produced a track for Successful rap artist, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Filip. check it
Chase and status in the past have been known for their uk breakbeat and drum and bass influenced music. This steers away a little and concentrates more on a bass ass dub step beat
