BREAKING NEWS: Deadmau5 is being treated in a hospital following a fight during the Miami Winter Music Conference with Felix da Housecat.
The Canadian DJ, real name Joel Zimmerman, is having one of his ears reconstructed at Mount Sinai Medical Center in South Beach, Miami after the two men came to blows on Sunday night.

The fight started during Deadmau5’s headline set on the main stage at the Ultra Music Festival.

Speaking to Mixmag from the Miami hospital, Deadmau5’s manager told us this morning “He was just mixing out of ‘Faxing Berlin’ when Joel looked to the side of the stage and saw Felix tucking into his rider. Joel gets quite funny about having a full cheeseboard ready for when he comes off stage so when he saw Felix with his paws in his brie he went ballistic and threw a can of Heineken at him.”

sad and lonely people of the interwebs, there is nothing to worry about… luvstep is here.

I didn’t really have a good listen/peek when luvstep was first spied a month or two ago notably with the dirty south / flufftronix mix but Nikolay sent through some in a polite well structured email (hint hint) so thought there couldn’t be any harm having a listen.

Inside were three tracks, fittingly titled ‘Victoria’, ‘Alexandria’ and ‘Olivia’ that gave me a much stronger idea of what luvstep is/was. It sounds like dubstep, acts like dubstep but has a tad more resonance and flesh, little less aggressive compared to raw dubstep and quite enjoyable if you like flat bass.

Two Door Cinema Club are way gravy… kinda sound like Phoenix’s little brothers or something.

They just finished filming their music clip for the ‘something good can work’ single in gran canaria and wanted to give something away in the form of sydney-dudes and kitsune sign-ees Ted and Francis, who also recently finished but missed out on the official remix release for Operator Please’s new single ‘logic’ (bummer).
