Spirals

Gtronic is a young gun from antwerp, belgium who is producing heavy distorted club tracks, with a twist, his remixes and now originals have taken unique interpretations on the distorted bangers genre that many people have come to love or hate whoever you are. Gtronic took a little time out of his schedule to answer a few questions so be sure to read on and see what makes this up and coming producer tick.

First of all thank you for taking time out to answer a few questions today, could you give our readers the low down on how your alias came about?

it’s very simple actually. You take tronic from electronic music, you take the G from my name (Greg) and you fix it together! My first name was DJ Gregoir hehe I’m glad I’ve changed this name to Gtronic

I read in an interview somewhere that you played guitar for ten years did this help in defining your sound more precisely and help with your producing technique?

Yeah off course. I love to jam with friends just for fun. You really develop your feeling for music more then. The more distortion I got on my guitar, the better hehe. That’s why I make such distorted basses, I think…

With so many producers grabbing for a piece of the pie has it been hard to get your sound out to the people?

I’m living in a small box called ‘electro trash’. My music isn’t meant to be for mainstream audience. It’s very hard to make a heavy trash track, that everyone likes. I’m trying to find the perfect balance with my sound.

You have a fair few remixes that are quite the electronic animals, have you any desire to produce your own works and will they be out anytime soon?

I have a lot of own tracks. My first EP will be released on BMKLTSCH Records, 17th December 2009. I have some future plans with the other tracks, but I can’t give you any precise information yet.

When your not producing tracks what can you be found doing?

I’m still going to school, so I don’t have much free time, In the evening I go to my girlfriend and other friends.
I’m in my last year of school. Starting June I’ll become a full-time producer, hopefully

I’m sure you love the music you make but what do you listen to when your not producing your tracks?

Some calm music to relax. The Go Find, Coldplay, Bloc Party, Foals

So many blogs are popping up these days do you have some favourites you read from time to time?

Well, there are so many blogs! I never know where to start. the past few months, I’ve been so busy I don’t have the time to do some research on new bangers. When I got some time for myself, I prefer making my own beats and remixes…

Where is the craziest place you have played?

Social Killer Club in Sydney was AMAZING. It was the first time I played all my tracks. The crowd went crazy. They were crowdsurfing, moshpitting, so nice to see hehe

Is there any producers you would love to collaborate with in the future?

Well, I would love to work with many other producers. Hostage, Mustard Pimp, The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, Felix Cartal, Rusko … Too many producers to name

finally thank you for your time, but if you could produce music with anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Then it would be The Bloody Beetroots

Today i have some tracks from his new ep for you to get your distorted bass hit.
