DADA LIFE INTERVIEW
Categories: Interviews

Took sometime out of my so ever busy schedule to send off a few questions to a duo that I recently pricked up my ears to and began taking notice, with several releases to there name they break the speakers with there brand of electro-house with catchy base lines and amazing hooks these are prepared for a dance floor of raging teenagers spending their fists full of cash. Heres what came back from the Dada Life boys.
Hatch – Who are Dada Life? Come on boys fill in the blog world on where you guys are from, what makes you tick and how Dada Life came to be?
DL – A duo from Stockholm Sweden. We met in the studio and it was love at first sight. We’re both half-mad but in different ways, so we really complement each other. Together we’re probably unbearable.
Hatch – What are Dada Life’s musical influences?
DL – A lot. Trance, 50′s rock’n'roll, avantgarde-things like John Cage, punk…as well as the latest tunes in all different genres that seems to be the same these days.
Hatch – Blogs are fast becoming the “IT” way to get tracks and masses of information out there, especially with the introduction of sites like Hypem.com, what do you guys think of all these fancy new ways to communicate your passion?
DL – We love it and think of it as the new radio. And the new radio is way more interesting than the old one.
Hatch – With so many myspace superstars and blogstars coming through and producing really killer tracks do you find it a more competitive environment that makes you work that little bit harder to get those fresh sounds out and pumping?
DL – We have been working hard from the beginning, so that’s no change. On the other hand you can also hear that a lot of people just are copying each other and trying to ride the latest trends, so the whole blog-thing sometimes sounds like a closed eco-system. You have to stand outside that system and make your own plans and then come back and stab them all in the back when they’re not looking. That’s what Dada Life is about.
Hatch – With the release of ‘Happy Hands and Happy Feet’ will we be seeing an album in the near future or a collaboration?
DL – We have a lot of remixes coming out this spring. Super Viral Brothers, Alex Gopher, Malente and tons of others. We also release our first album early summer – called Just Do The Dada.
Hatch – Having toured Australia in 2007 will you guys be bringing the records back out for a 09 Oz tour?
DL – We hope so! We loved it.
Hatch – You guys make us jump with the tracks you make, but what are some artists that you listen to on your days off out of the studio?
DL – Hard to pinpoint any, we listen to a lot of music… Everything that is good!
Hatch – Now for some fun. If there was one artist you could challenge to a game of ping pong who would it be?
DL – Michael Jackson. Cause that’s the only person we would be sure that we could beat.
Well there you have it blogs are the new radio, remixes are going to be coming out our ears to top that off they already have an album to tick off the list!

“We love it and think of it as the new radio. And the new radio is way more interesting than the old one.” – Good way of thinking of it. It really is the new radio.
“You have to stand outside that system and make your own plans and then come back and stab them all in the back when they’re not looking. That’s what Dada Life is about.” – haha, I dunno about the stabbing in the back though.
I honestly didn’t hear about these guys until you posted this.
Thanks for sharing! Sounds really cool. Will be checking out their other stuff.
yo, check this remix by starmix of Dada’s ‘Lollipop’. Think it was on the Euro MOS annual in 08. Very addictive beat

That Lollipop song is such a throw back, I’d say its been around a lot longer then 08 but still great all the same
I honestly hate that song! Mostly for the lyrics..
